LCC offers three types of memberships individual, family, and business. Members enjoy multiple benefits throughout the year. Your membership also helps LCC advocate for bicycle safety and support the following local cycling entities: Bike Iowa, Des Moines Street Collective, and Iowa Bicycle Coalition.

Individual and Family Memberships

Being an LCC member provides individuals and families with many benefits including: 

  • Three organized rides per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday).
  • Monthly member-only special rides, including full moon rides and riding trails outside the Des Moines metro.
  • All rides are organized with an official host and are no-drop (no one gets left behind).
  • Affiliation with Central Iowa Charters for RAGBRAI.
  • Monthly club email newsletter (minimum of 10 per year).
  • Facebook group to receive announcements and interact with other cyclists.
  • Spring and fall membership meetings with educational program.
  • Educational programs and social gatherings during the winter.
  • Discounts at local bike shops and other business sponsors.
  • Liability Insurance- All LCC rides are covered by insurance for all members in case of an accident on that ride.
  • Volunteer opportunities. As a membership organization, LCC relies on members to represent the club at the Iowa Bike Expo and to help with monthly trail clean up along sections that have been adopted by the club.
  • Access to purchase LCC apparel and merchandise, including jerseys.

Individual dues are $20 (plus $1 processing fee) annually (. (One adult plus their minor children*)

Family dues are $30 (plus $1 processing fee) annually (Two adults that reside in the same household, plus their minor children*)

*You must be 18 years of age to join LCC. Minor children (under age 18) can participate but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and sign a waiver of liability if they were not included on the parent’s membership form.

Business Sponsorship

Being an LCC sponsor provides businesses with the following benefits: 

  • Business logo and a link to website (or social media) on the LCC website.
  • Business logo and link to website (or social media) in the monthly club newsletter.
  • Business ad in the monthly club newsletter to promote your business, special event, sale, etc. at no additional cost. Up to 10 ads per year. 
  • Promotional posts within the LCC group on Facebook to promote your business, special event, sale, etc. at no additional cost. Up to 10 promotional posts per year.
  • Opportunities to partner with the club to host a special event, provide an educational program, or co-sponsor a group.
